Experts predict home prices to increase

MySanAntonio.com says an increase in home prices is on the horizon here and in neighboring cities, naming King William as one of San Antonio’s hottest neighborhoods. By 2023, homes could cost as much as 18.5% more than they do right now, which means a stable investment for homeowners.

There’s an extensive range from least to most expensive 

Because of the variety of home styles, properties here range in price from $250,000 into the millions. A scan of the market shows a median listing price of around $400,000, though many sell for just under the asking price.

Many professionals seeking an alternative to the traditional suburb and an escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown San Antonio call King William home. Commuters here enjoy the best of both worlds: living in a beautiful, stately neighborhood and working in a busy, active downtown.

King William is one of five neighborhoods that make up Southtown, an artsy, creative community. The area is home to students, artists and a younger crowd with a median age of 32 years old.

While it may have started as a 3-mile trail, the San Antonio River Walk now stretches 15 miles alongside the San Antonio River. The trail runs all the way from the mission area through downtown San Antonio, ending at Brackenridge Park. This is the perfect place for walkers, runners, and cyclists, as it’s away from traffic and more densely populated areas. However, there are plenty of stops along the way to rest, grab a bite to eat, or do a little shopping.

While local car dealers are having a tough time keeping EV cars in stock, the city is busy at work installing new charging stations around town. New rapid transit is in the works

While there isn’t much in the way of public transportation here, plans for a rapid transit corridor are well underway. If approved, the proposed $158-million project will provide a much-needed improvement to the area’s underdeveloped public transportation system.

As a busy historic district, pets are welcome in designated areas while on leash. For those times dogs need an off-leash romp, two dog parks, the Maverick Dog Park, and Madison Square Park are less than five miles outside of town where dogs can run free in designated areas.

1. Visit the past in some of San Antonio’s oldest homes

Visitors enjoy concerts, Gartenfest, Oktoberfest, and fiesta festivities while surrounded by German culture. The Beethoven Halle und Garten serves specialties, such as goulash, bratwurst, and Bavarian soft pretzels to round out the experience. 

3. Get a load of the art at First Friday Artwalk

Art fanatics and casual visitors alike will enjoy the monthly First Friday Artwalk, the longest running artwalk in San Antonio. Anchored by the Blue Star Arts Complex, the artwalk—which began in 1994—offers the entire neighborhood a chance to experience various art vendors, explore gallery spaces, and enjoy the true flavor of San Antonio at the same time. LIke the name suggests, the First Friday Artwalk takes place on the first Friday of each month. 

4. Row your boat down King William Paddling Trail

The King William Paddling Trail provides a relaxing escape on the smooth waters of the San Antonio River. While on the water, visitors delight in a wide variety of native wildlife and picturesque natural beauty right in the heart of town.
